The Power of Audio and Video Messages

If you want to be known for your brilliance, you have to share content. But is written content the only way to share your knowledge with the world? Nope. If you're relying solely on the written word and static images, you could be missing a large group of people who need to hear what you have to offer. Audio and video are excellent tools that will help you generate trust like you probably can't imagine! Why? Because we are social creatures. When we see and hear someone, we are more inclined to get to know more about them.

You’re probably tired of hearing that your audience has to know, like, and trust you before they will consider becoming paying customers. Well, I'm sorry to break it to you; the KLT factor is super important to your business success.

Ok, so let's break it down.

  • People get to know you through your written content and your social media presence.
  • They may like what you have to offer and what you’re sharing.
  • They may even be impressed by your expertise.
  • But earning their trust enough for them to pull out their wallet and buy from you can be tricky.

That’s where your audio and video messages come in...they want to see your face and hear your voice.

Think about this. When we hear someone’s voice and see them speak, we get to learn a lot about them. That’s why audio and video messages are so important in your marketing. Don’t be afraid to use them. Yes, I get it if this is not your thing. It still isn't mine either but I'm doing it more now to build client trust.

Audio Tips

Here are some audio options (if video is intimidating):

  • Start a podcast.
  • Be a guest on other people’s podcasts. When you get in front of other people's audiences, it increases your exposure. And make sure to share the podcast with your audience as well.
  • Create a slideshow using a tool like Canva, do a voiceover, and share it with your audience.
  • Ask your subscribers or social media followers to submit their questions. Take a few minutes each week to record your answers then share the recordings.

Video Tips

If you're ready for video, try these:

  • Do live Q&A sessions. If pre-recorded, make sure to show your face.
  • Teach your audience how to do something.
  • Record some inspirational videos using Zoom, Sendspark, or Loom. I also use Wave.video
  • Chat with your audience about a topic of interest that’s related to your products and service. You can do this on Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube.
  • Go live with a colleague. Here's an example of me on IG with my girl Sasha Jones from Grenada.

And if you're comfortable enough, do videos on several platforms. The good news is that you can get started with the tech you already have. Pull out your smartphone and give it a try.

I do encourage you, though, to pick one video or audio strategy and master it. Then you could expand over time.

Final Thoughts

If you're not sure how to create videos yourself, then I have a solution for you. My friend, Cindy Bidar is making it super easy for you to...

✅ Create a product, marketing, or social media video with the click of a button.
✅ Edit like a pro using free tools and a simple, easy-to-follow workflow.
✅ Turn short videos into eye-catching gifs for your sales pages and emails.

You can check her Online Video Quickstart Guide.

Also, consider this bonus tip. Remember we spoke earlier in this series about consistency? Try to share a video message every week. You'll be surprised by the responses you'll receive. In fact, you can grow your audience's trust even quicker. And by asking them to like, comment, and share, you’ll grow your reach and your audience. It’s a powerful strategy you should give a try today!
